For those who haven’t noticed, we’ve set up an RSS feed for Swordmaster Odyssey. You can find the link on the Swordmaster Odyssey site.

As promised, here’s a sample of what’s to come. These are two rough-draft “storyboard” pages done on index cards. What do you suppose is going to happen in Chapter 3? (The two pages are not back-to-back, they come from two different sections of the chapter.)

If you can’t make out the text, I’ve included it below (in the order it appears on each page):

JESSIE: “I’ll consider it, but tell me why.”
KEVIN: “I need to go to the capital.”
JESSIE: “What for?”
KEVIN: “Hmm.”
KEVIN: “Can’t tell.”
JESSIE: “Count me out.”
KEVIN (out of frame): “Remember that I saw someone do that before?”
JESSIE: “Yeah…”

???: “Lord Silver, you’ve come to my aid!”
SILVER(?): “Get lost!…”

Tommorow’s Swordmaster Odyssey update will likely be late, just like last weeks (although possibly even more so). It will, however, contain the last pages of the chapter meaning that Chapter 3 will kick off next Friday.

One of the pages that’s due to go up today still needs to be cleaned and lettered, so the Swordmaster Odyssey site will likely not update until later this afternoon. Sorry! I told you we were behind! 😉

Blarg! If I can’t find a way to make the lips work for all the characters not named Jessie, I’m going to go back and edit them out of every page thus far! 🙁

Thanks to seemingly endless internet connection problems (among other things), Swordmaster Odyssey updates will likely be very thin for the next few weeks. As in, we may see a one-page update or two. Hopefully it doesn’t come to this, but just giving you a head’s up.

For the zero of you actually interested, I’ve got two link banners for Swordmaster Odyssey. You get your choice of Jessie or Kevin. Or, you can have them together (althought they’re REALLY small and kind of hard to see).

The further I get into Swordmaster Odyssey, the more and more that I wish I’d just stuck with my normal style instead of seeing if I could make details that most art styles only hint at look natural. While the characters do look better than when I started out, they’re a little difficult to work with. Expressing certain reactions and feelings is hard to do because of the ways their mouths are drawn. 🙁

One thing I’ve been eagerly awaiting in chapter 2 of Swordmaster Odyssey is the introduction of the second main character. Of course, introducing them means I need to pin down their personality, look, and motives. I hate doing that, it means I can’t change my mind anymore! Heh…
